  • Does Mary see people in person?

    Yes, but only for walking/nature based therapy in Owesnboro, KY at the botanical gardens. It is a great way to incorporate important coping skills right into our time together- exercise, getting some vitamin d and being in nature.

  • What Insurances do you take?

    I can see people who reside in Kentucky or Massachusetts. Aetna , Anthem | Elevance, Kentucky BlueCross and BlueShield, Cigna, Evernorth , Meritain, Nippon, United Healthcare Shared Services and Out of Network for other pivate insurances

  • I do not see my insurance- what can I do?

    If you have private insurance check with your insurance regarding out of network benefits for mental health services. If you have out of network benefits I can provide you a superbill and you will be reimbursed a percentage (based of your benefits) of what you pay.

  • Do you take Medicaid?

    At this time, I am not able to take Medicaid. It is something I am working towards in the next two years. If you would like some referrals, reach out mary@abundantrootstherapy.com.

  • How does Telehealth work?

    I use a Hippa compliant online video platform for each session. There is a waiting area and I will admit you at our start time. Telehealth has been researched to be effective for mental health services. You can use your phone or computer, but you do need to be in one room alone for the entire session.

  • What if I don't have insurance?

    I provide a sliding scale through Open Path Collective. Open Path clients cannot afford market rates for therapy, lack adequate mental health insurance coverage, and have an annual household income below $100,000. The sliding scale is $40-70.

  • Can you see folks outside of Kentucky or Massachusetts?

    No my license only allows me to work with clients in the states I am licensed and you have to be in the state during the session.
